LYLE DEAN SYMONS 1935 – 2023

Lyle Dean Symons, 87, passed away and joined his wife, Louise Catherine Ellerbeck Symons, on May 6, 2023.

Lyle was born September 18, 1935 in Windsor, Ontario Canada to Gordon and Stella Symons. He met the girl next door, Louise, whom he would walk to church and later would become his wife of more than 50 years.

Lyle, with his family in tow, ventured to the U.S. to continue honing his craft in the forging industry, first in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, then to College Station, Texas in 1973 to become Plant Manager at Interstate Southwest Forge (now known as Elwood) for 31 plus years. Lyle was a trusted manager, friend, and devoted father. Through his hard work and dedication to his family, he made the legacy of five generations of fun-loving, hard-working people.

Lyle was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Symons.

He is survived by his children, Lyle Symons (Barbara), Mark Symons (Denise), Darcie Norris (Michael), and Lisa Symons; grandchildren, Ryan Symons, Christian Symons (Marcie), Keith Symons (Courtni), Eric Symons (Susie), Phillip Symons, Elizabeth Siddiqui (Moh), Roxanne Beck, Courtney Boyles (Hayden), and Jacquilin Symons; great-grandchildren, Cole (Corynne Walker), Katelyn, Cooper, Lyla, Ellie, Luci, Emmitt, Emma, Sophia, and Nickolas Symons, Cypress and Phoenix Nordloh, Pace and Stetson Boyles; great-grandson Jaxon Symons; older brother, Richard Symons (Barb Symons); sister, Sandy Emslie (Grant); and mothers of his grandchildren, Tammy Symons, Jenni Symons, Beth Symons, and Anne Symons.

A viewing will take place Saturday, May 20, at Hillier of Bryan, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Lyle’s top priority throughout his life was supporting and loving his family and friends. Please join us for a celebration of life BBQ for friends and family following the viewing at 5pm at Aggieland Garage Door, 17139 Rock Prairie Road, College Station.
