CLARA FRIDYE 1925 – 2024

Clara Francis Diehl Fridye, 98, of Plantersville, passed away Wednesday evening, August 28, 2024, at Navasota Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A gathering of family and friends took place Monday, September 2, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stoneham. A parish rosary followed at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Edward C. Kucera, Jr. as the celebrant. The rite of committal followed in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Hutto, Wayne Hutto, Larry Hutto, John Klovenski, Mike Metzger and Ronnie Vaculik.

Clara was born September 4, 1925 in Plantersville to John and Eva Mattern Diehl. She attended the Klein School in Plantersville and on October 26, 1946 she married Anton Frank Fridye. They made their home in Houston and after Anton retired in June 1989, they moved their home to Stoneham. Clara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society as well as the Stitching Sisters Quilting group. She was excellent with embroidery and donated numerous items for the bazaar every year. Clara was also famous for her wonderful cinnamon rolls.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Anton, granddaughter Shirley Bailey, great grandson, Jakob Baldwin, brothers, Jack, Albert, Leo, Manuel, Philip, Otto and James and sisters, Regina, Annie and Angeline.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Gorney and husband William and Alice Bamsch and husband Kenneth; granddaughters, Michelle Gorney and Gary Baldwin, Kristie Campbell and husband Jimmy, Tracy Chrisman and husband Jason; great granddaughters, Chelsea Flinn and husband Shannon, Casey Bailey, Brooklyn Baldwin, Jamie, Kalie, and Zoie Campbell and Shelby Chrisman; great grandson Christopher Baldwin; great great granddaughters, McKenzy and Cheyenne Flinn; and a great great grandson, Dallas Lee Flinn; sister, Alma Hutto along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
