Victim identified in deadly Hwy 30 motorcycle crash

CARLOS- Nathan Monk, age 65, from Houston has been identified as the motorcyclist pronounced deceased in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Carlos, Wednesday, April 10.

 

According to Department of Public Safety trooper Jimmy Morgan, DPS responded to reports of a motorcycle collision on the westbound feeder of State Highway 30, in Carlos at 5:30 p.m.

 

Monk the driver of a 2003 BMW motorcycle was attempting to make a U-turn when he was struck by a 2003 Freightliner hauling a load of pallets, driven by Gary Vela of Beeville. 

 

Vela didn’t suffer any injuries, but Monk was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

Highway 30 reopened to one lane at approximately 10 p.m. The highway completely reopened at midnight.
