A multi vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Texas 90 in Anderson injured multiple people, including two that were airlifted from the scene.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant, Justin Ruiz, said the crash happened around 2 p.m., Oct. 13. He said a Dodge Ram was stopped in the northbound lane on Texas 90 preparing to turn onto CR 180. A Chevrolet Malibu was stopped behind the Dodge.

Ruiz said a Peterbuilt tractor truck and trailer was traveling northbound on 90 and failed to control his speed. The driver “took evasive action into oncoming lanes causing the trailer to jackknife.” The trailer struck a Tacoma, a Lexus and a Honda that were all traveling southbound.

Three people in the Tacoma were injured and transported from the scene. Ruiz said the male driver of the Tacoma was airlifted to St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan. The female passenger who was riding in the front seat of the Tacoma was airlifted to a hospital in Conroe and the backseat passenger was taken by ambulance to St, Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan.

Ruiz said the accident is still being investigated and more details will be released later.
