Sunday wreck injures five
TODD MISSION — A Sunday afternoon wreck in Todd Mission sent five people to the hospital.
The Nov. 5, accident happened around 4:42 p.m. on FM 1774 near Mill Creek Drive. Department of Public Safety Sgt. Justin Ruiz said the preliminary investigation indicates a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling northbound. A 2015 Toyota Corolla traveling southbound failed to drive in a single lane and entered the northbound lane, striking the Chevrolet head-on.
The driver of the Toyota, Viviana Chavez, 24, of Houston was transported to Baylor Scott & White in Navasota with suspected serious injuries.
There were four passengers in the Toyota. Leslie Marez, 24, of Houston was air-lifted to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston with serious injuries. Davis Rojas, 26, of Houston, and Virginia Magdaleno, 25, of Houston, were transported to Memorial Houston of The Woodlands with suspected moderate injuries. The fourth passenger was not injured.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Blas Perez Jr., 56, of Waller, was transported to HCA Houston in Conroe with suspected moderate injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
