ANDERSON- Deeldre Trevon Richardson pled guilty to aggravated robbery and two-counts of sexual assault, March 12, and was sentenced to 15-years in prison. Richardson must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, after serving his sentence in prison.

Navasota Police responded to a Robbery at A&B Food Mart, 701 West Washington Avenue in Navasota, Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018. The clerk on duty reported two black males entered the store and stole money from the cash register while holding him at gunpoint then both suspects fled on foot.

Richardson, age 19, was identified as the suspect who entered the store with the gun. At the time of the robbery Richardson was out on bond after being arrested in 2017 in connection with engaging in sexual contact with teenage girls under age 17, which is the legal age of consent of Texas.

Richardson did not have any previous felony convictions. Brazos County District Attorney’s Ryan Calvert and Kara Comte represented the State as special prosecutors before 506th District Judge Albert McCaig Jr.

“Richardson being incarcerated makes our community safer,” said Grimes County District Attorney Andria Bender. “He had two sexual assaults pending when he committed the aggravated robbery. His pattern of criminal behavior was clearly escalating. Once he is released from prison he will be required to register as a sex offender where he will continue to be monitored by law enforcement. I’m grateful to Ryan Calvert and Kara Comte for handling this case for our community.”

Richardson is in the Grimes County Jail awaiting transfer to prison.
