Pederson Elected TML Region 14 Vice President
Region 14 includes the counties of Houston, Madison, Trinity, Waller, Walker, Grimes, San Jacinto, Montgomery, Harris, Austin, Colorado, Chambers, Ft Bend, Wharton, Brazoria, Matagorda and Galveston.
The announcement comes after Navasota Mayor Bert Miller and Pederson attended the Texas Municipal League Region 14 Fall Meeting and Workshop in Galveston Aug. 6. Sessions attended included a legislative update and a roundtable with State Representatives Kyle Kacal, Alma Allen, and Harold Dutton. Topics discussed included local control, unfunded mandates from the state, infrastructure needs of cities, and state education issues. An update was also provided from Brad Jones, Interim President and CEO of ERCOT. TML continuing education hours were earned by attendees. The City of Navasota is a member of the TML that provides advocacy, legislative support, and educational opportunities. About TML: The TML is a private, non-profit association that provides services to Texas cities through legislative, legal, and educational efforts. Region 14 represents more than 150 municipalities in Southeast Texas. Wong’s new role will help Sugar Land to effectively address its legislative needs through TML. He also represents Sugar Land intergovernmental interests as a current Board member of the 13-county Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC). His involvement includes transportation, homeland security, flood control, local work force and other issues that H-GAC helps fund.

Navasota Councilmember Pattie Pederson has been elected Vice President of the Texas Municipal League (TML), Region 14. Pederson will serve by planning future TML sessions, being involved with elected officials, and issues in the upcoming 2023 legislative session.
