Holiday Fest returns to Anderson

ANDERSON- Event and music promotor Charlie Diggs is bringing back live music for year two of the Anderson Holiday Fest in downtown Anderson from 2 p.m. till 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.

Over 1,200 people lined the streets of Anderson a year ago and were treated to an intimate live concert setting and this year the attendance is anticipated to be over 2,000.

The event will include live music, food trucks, a kid corral, street dance, vendors, a hot dog eating contest and of course Santa Claus.

Headlining the event are country music greats Johnny Lee, Rick Trevino, Jason Cassidy and Bri Bagwell.

Johnny Lee

Most recognized for his 1980s hit “Lookin for Love,” that was featured in the hit movie “Urban Cowboy” starring John Travolta and Deborah Winger, the album became Lee’s first “Gold Record.”

Lee was born in Texas City and is a member of the Texas Country Hall of Fame. He’s produced Top 10 Hits such as One in a Million, Bet Your Heart on Me, Cherokee Fiddle, Sounds Like Love, Hey Bartender, You Could’ve Heard a Heart Break and more.

Rick Trevino

Trevino emerged as not only one of the most popular Hispanic country singers in the 1990s but as one of the decade’s most popular country artists and is still an accomplished singer/songwriter.

He has released recognizable hits beginning with his debut single Just Enough Rope. He was the first mainstream country music singer to feature separate English and Spanish versions of the song.

The Grammy Award winner also produced hits including She Can’t Say I Didn’t Cry, Learning As You Go, I Only Get This Way With You, and Bobbie Ann Mason.

Jason Cassidy

Cassidy played at the inaugural Anderson Holiday Fest and returns by popular demand. He has released six-straight Top 20 radio singles including his latest Rest of Forever. He has shared the stage with recognizable legends including Johnny Lee, Mickey Gilley, Tracy Lawrence, Aaron Watson, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, The Bellamy Brothers and Kevin Fowler, along with many more.

The high energy performance includes recognizable hits Blame It on Waylon, Rest of Forever, Country Girls Do It Better and Need Her More.

Bri Bagwell

Bagwell is a fixture on the Texas Country Music Scene and has a style that is popular among listeners of all ages. She began her career singing a t gigs in her twin brothers’ band when she was 14.

She has released hit songs including My Boots, Cheat On Me, Beer Pressure, I Can’t Be Lonely and more.

Also taking the stage are Doc West Band, The Common Ground, Aubrie Lynn, Trey Brandt and Samantha Bowers.
