Grimes County Jail halts visitation
ANDERSON – Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is closing to the public and halting visitation at the jail.
In a press release, GCSO announced the new procedures took effect Monday, Aug. 1. “It is our duty to protect the inmates as well as personnel from the spread of COVID-19 in our facility. We understand you look forward to visiting your loved ones, but we have to ensure their safety above all.”
According to the press release, the COVID-19 precautions will be reevaluated within 30 days and an update will be provided.
