GC Crime Stoppers sets new meeting day
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, the Grimes County Crime Stoppers will meet the first Thursday of each month instead of the third Tuesday of the month. The board of directors approved the change to make attendance more convenient given the number of conflicting nonprofit meetings held in the county on the third Tuesday.
The GC Crime Stoppers is a 501 (c)(3) community-based partnership formed by dedicated citizens, law enforcement and the media working toward a common goal: the reduction of crime and the arrest and conviction of criminals.
The Grimes County Crime Stoppers serves as a vehicle for citizens to relay criminal information to law enforcement agencies while remaining anonymous by establishing a reward system that pays for information leading to arrest, or charges filed, on persons involved in crimes.
The monthly meeting will continue to be held at the Grimes County Courthouse Annex, 114 W. Buffington in Anderson at 6 p.m.
