The long-awaited drought without high school football is finally over in Grimes County as area schools braved the heat to begin football practice Monday, Aug. 5. Iola began practice with “Midnight Madness” at 12:01 a.m. under new head coach Kerry Bamburg. Casey Dacus returns for his second season in Navasota where he led the Rattlers to the playoffs and Brad Hodges looks to lead Anderson-Shiro to the playoffs again in 2019.
