Be aware of your surroundings
Whitehall News
This is a scary topic for me, but I thought I would share anyway. In another town a grieving mother went to the cemetery to place flowers on her very young son’s grave. She was approached by a large man and, when she tried to walk away, he attacked her. Being a small woman, the struggle was horrific and she suffered a beating, but she did manage to get away. This is not the first time this type of attack has happened in cemeteries. Women, please be careful and watch your surroundings. This mother finally had her day in court and she is healing physically, but I can’t imagine the mental pain she carries with her. Grimes County has many cemeteries in secluded spots, so be careful.
•The Courtney-Whitehall 4H will be holding their bake sale to benefit a graduating senior March 23 at the Whitehall Store. Please consider stopping by and purchasing a baked good. It may be wise to take lots of cash with you, because I understand that there are some really good sales kids in that group!
•The Indian Paintbrushes and the Texas Bluebonnets are beautiful, unless you have a grandson like I do. Chucky loves for me to mow around those orange flowers, so that he can pick them for me. He is a sweet boy!
Mowing is tough now with the ground so saturated. Well, one day it will dry up and I can mow more.
•There will be 9 a.m. Sunday morning worship March 24 and March 31 for Lynn Grove United Methodist Church.
