Thank you, Mr. Jones
Letter to the editor
Friday, April 5, my husband and I were on our way from Athens, Texas, to Katy to attend a wedding on Saturday. Our 2001 Dodge Ram diesel truck started surging in Bedias. We chugged through Roans Prairie, becoming more and more worried about dying on the side of the road.
As we entered Anderson that’s where we found someone you all need to know about — Terry Jones at Jones Family Auto in Anderson. Can you imagine our absolute relief when we read those big letters “diesel” on his sign? We had our children pick us up and we left our truck by a leap of faith with Mr. Jones, a total stranger, hoping he was a reliable mechanic and honest. He called us Saturday afternoon to tell us it was ready. We want you to know he went the extra mile — made two trips to Navasota for parts, plus did a major repair and kept us in the loop all the way. His charges were on the money. He didn’t take advantage of our situation (as some could have). Our truck runs better than ever.
It truly was divine intervention for us, but we want you to know you have a great, honest mechanic in your county. He’s ex-military and deserves your business. I wish him the very best. He’s recently opened this shop and I pray he does very well. We’re grateful to have been lucky enough to break down in Grimes County.
Mr. Jones took us to the Subway restaurant to wait for our kids to drive from Katy to get us. It was getting very late in the afternoon. The manager there was so nice, too. He allowed us to sit in his restaurant for over an hour while we waited for our children.
You just have great people!
Sincerely,
Bernice and
