White Hall News

Is it really September? Wow, at my age, I sure wish time would slow down. However, there are many other reasons to smile - the beautiful mornings, the sunset and the rain we have received.

Saturday, the District 17 of the VFW had their quarterly meeting and this one included training. I was so excited when Post 4006 was called because I could say president and seven, meaning eight were present. We received applause because this was the largest attendance in the past 5 years. Thanks to all the members for using their Saturday to represent our Auxiliary.

I was asked by the District President to be pro-term for the Sr. Vice President as Ronnie was unable to be present. Actually, I had a good place, up-front, where I could hear. However, I would never be able to handle that position and I made that clear!

Sunday, Salem Lutheran Church was honored to receive their fulltime pastor thru his ordination and installation. The ceremony was nice with many of Pastor Christians’ family (Minnesota), friends (Wichita Falls-full church bus), our congregation members and about 15 Lutheran pastors attending. The latter group makes it tough for someone with my personality. I had to behave!

One member of the Wichita Falls group had an emotional support dog that was trained to receive pats and interaction. The trainer said they have taken the dogs to Uvalde and plan to go back. If I remember correctly, there are six total dogs. Personally, I would like to hear more about this service.

Please say some added prayers for Mrs. Lynette Frenzel. She had to have surgery Sunday and being in her late 90’s she needs those extra prayers. Also, Barbara Gorney had a brief hospital stay and it is my understanding she is home and doing better. Mrs. Sue Kolojaco lost her grandson recently and she would appreciate some extra prayers.

The White Hall Taxpayers Association (Community Center) met Thursday, Sept. 1, for a special called meeting. The attendance was low having only eight members present. In sharing our ideas and thoughts, we realize we need to consider some maintenance projects in the near future.

Members of the VFW Post and Auxiliary are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and share your ideas for assisting veterans.

Please add all our sick and homebound friends to your prayer list. These friends include Mary Martin, Leon Gorney, Barbara Gorney, Lois Bell, Jean Fleischhauer, Margaret Schultz, Lynette Frenzel, Sue Kolojaco, Mary Bauer, Rosa Finke, Marilyn Frenzel, Delores Mitschke, Mary Whatley, Billie Wittenbach, Gabriel Goode, Amy Simon, Glenn Binder, Pastor Schultz, and Lawrence Finke.
