7D Ranch, 2729 CR 305 in Navasota is hosting a benefit for Gabriel Goode Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Gabriel is a five-year-old boy that was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a rare form of liver cancer that attacks one in a million children. The City of Navasota is hosting the third annual Freedom Festival Friday, July 1, in downtown Navasota. The event will include the annual Fourth of July Parade, live music, fireworks, and family fun. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Brosig Avenue and will travel west on Washington Avenue to 9th Street. Participation in the parade is free and does not require registration. Participants can begin lining up at 5 p.m. on Brosig Avenue.
The Brown Sugar Band will take the stage outside of Navasota City Hall at 7 p.m., and vendors will be on site for food and beverage purchase. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be launched by Brule Field. Fireworks may be viewed downtown or at Brule Field. Gates will open at 8 p.m.
Grimes County Fair Ranch Rodeo is Friday, June 10 at Grimes County Fairgrounds beginning at 6:30 p.m. Events include pasture roping, mugging and branding. Navasota Sounds of Summer Concert Series is back! The Sounds of Summer will be held at Navasota City Hall grounds on June 24, July 29 and August 26. The bands will be announced in the coming weeks.
