Unknown rider spreading awareness

Often when you live down a county road in the country you may not always be aware of everything that might be happening in town. Therefore, I rely on my readers to keep me informed. Thank you to those who do. I really do appreciate it. This is important to the community and you are helping them. They love hearing from you and about you. Please keep all your news coming.

Sometimes I find out about things that happen after the fact. This was the case this week. I found out on social media that a horseback rider made his way through Richards. Some saw him near Bedias before he came to Richards. He was traveling through town and Steve Klawinsky sent out a message. Steve said, “To all my Richards family and friends, there is a gentleman that will be riding through Richards this evening. The gentleman is riding in memory of his daughter and in the name of The Lord.” He said, “If you see him give him a wave or even stop and have a chat with him. “

Misty Klawinsky also added that this man lost his daughter. She lost her life texting and driving three days before the end of her junior year of high school. Misty said that her dad stated they had this trip planned before his daughter passed and he wanted to complete their journey. He also said that he was bringing awareness to texting and driving and making sure everyone he meets knows the Lord. I am not sure where this man was from and not even sure which direction he was headed. I know he left Richards and was going toward Bays Chapel. I did not even know his name. The one thing I do know he was on a special mission. Please keep this gentleman and his family in your prayers. Some of us may not know his name but God does.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Eugene “Gene” Phillip Burzynski 91, who was a longtime resident of Richards. Gene died Tuesday, Jan. 14. Family and Friends gathered at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church to remember Gene Jan. 16, and a Parish rosary followed. A funeral Mass celebrating Gene was held Friday, Jan. 17, The rite of committal was at the Stanislaus church cemetery.

Gene was special to so many people in our community and he was loved by many. He was a farmer and did custom bailing. He loved to hunt, fish and was known to many as quite a gardener. My neighbor who knew the family very well (the late) Mrs. Margaret Baranowski, once told me. “Gene doesn’t just grow onions he grows onions as big as saucers.” Gene will be missed in so many ways by so many. Gene is survived by his wife Lou Kattie Burzynski of 67 years, four sons, Gerard Burzynski of Katy, Leo Burzynski, Alan Burzynski, Bryan Burzynski, all of Richards, a daughter Anita Johnson of Montgomery, and three grandchildren, Brianna, Calan and Kaudia. Please continue to remember this family in your prayers.
