Look for a potential burn ban coming soon-Richards VFD cautions everyone when burning now to be extremely careful. All conditions are dry, windy, and hot, and brush checks in the area show strong potentials for fire. “We encourage residents to be smart when starting fires for debris clean up or cooking,” reminds RVFD Chief Cort Norwood. “Keep reliable water sources on hand.” While summer may be a slow time for everyone else, the VFD tends to start ramping up in activity - responding to calls, managing fires, and completing their continuing education.
