Remember the Floyd family in prayers
Band Night was Friday. Students were able to show parents and friends how hard they worked during the heat of the summer. Navasota High School Band Director David Holland introduced the people who assisted and introduced Marcus Roberts who is the junior high band director.
It was Chucky’s 15th birthday and the band students were having a little party afterwards, so I made a big cake for him. Those band students may act a bit differently, but they are very appreciative of what their parents do for them. Now, if you go to the games, please support the band students after they perform because they work hard.
With high school football season here already, I am reminded that I have a senior, junior and a sophomore. That is the end of my grandchildren. By the time they graduate, Little Man will begin “big” school. This is hard to believe.
VFW Post 4006 will host a First Responders FREE breakfast Saturday, Sept. 9 in honor of 9-11, Patriot’s Day. Serving is 7-11 a.m. I hope to see a good crowd.
The doctors say that there is a stomach virus, COVID and RSV happening often again. With school beginning please stay aware and take care.
I would like to ask for prayers for the family of Joanne Grube Floyd. Joanne has had serious medical issues for a very long time and lost her battle this week. I am sure the family would be appreciative.
Prayers for rain would be great. I’ve heard of showers all around our area, but I have not witnessed any at my house. Perhaps there were a few drops that I missed.
Please add our sick and homebound friends to your prayer list. These friends include Charlotte Serres, Frank Surovik, III, Lois Bell, Jean Fleischhauer, Sue Kolojaco, Mary Bauer, Rosa Finke, Mary Whatley, Billie Wittenbach, Suzie Rimes, Alexander Hanna, Troy Weigand, Shawn Welch, Delores Mitschke, Glenn Binder, Joanne Floyd, Von Herring and Betty Feldmann.
