Ice cream enjoyed at heated meeting
Keith News
The Keith Civic Club monthly meeting was held at the Keith Community Center Thursday, July 25, with a fair number of members and visitors in attendance. The hostesses for the evening were Connie Francis and Tina Templeton. Instead of the usual covered dish meal, ice cream, sandwiches, chips and cookies were served and enjoyed by all. The air conditioner was out of service which made the ice cream even more enjoyable. The president, Bob Templeton made a call and it will be replaced before the end of the week. In this hot weather that is good news.

The final two weeks of Camp Sonshine closed Thursday, Aug. 1, with a good number of campers and workers. I didn’t receive the number of children that accepted Christ as their savior but am sure there were many. May God bless each of them. The camp was delayed due to a storm that damaged the kitchen around a month ago, but thankfully it has been repaired.
Davis and Debbie Vaughn had a new roof installed on their home and garage. It really looks nice. Davis’s sister, Betty Jo Dane, who lives with the couple have her son Fred Dane visiting for several days.
I am happy to report that Sheriff Don Sowell and his wife Gail have successfully moved from downtown Anderson into Don’s parent’s former home on FM
244. One of their daughters and her family have moved into Sheriff Sowell and Gail’s former home. I went to a sale that the Sow-ell’s had and purchased two old chairs that were in John and JoAnn’s possession for many years. I asked one of the Sowell’s grandsons if he had picked out his room yet. He replied, “You bet.”
