Great time at annual White Hall Pig Roast
Thank you to White Hall Café for holding the second annual Pig Roast as a fundraiser for the White Hall Taxpayers Association. I actually made it this year and must say the meat was not what I have tried before; it was much better. Thanks again.
It is always great to see so many people in church on Sunday morning. There were members who can’t come often due to illness, but Sunday was a blessing.
Salem Lutheran Church had their potluck Sunday serving a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. I have to admit that I did not get to eat much because I decided to drive myself to Urgent Care again for a health issue. I just want to say that all these “itis” illnesses are the pits - you know arthritis, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, lazyitis and so on. Hopefully all these drugs will work for me because I am looking forward to Joni’s Thanksgiving meal where I can eat and bring food home!
Little Man was finally able to get his infant shots. He was a bit fussy but that is normal. He still smiles really big when I ask if he is the boss
Sonshine Sisters is always a time to forget what ails you, even though sometimes it takes a few moments to get up from the chair. We decided to stop keeping score months back, just because, but I still see some competition in the group. This form of competition is actually funny!
Grimes VFW Post 4006 and Auxiliary met for their monthly meal and business meetings. The Auxiliary was able to accomplish many items as we are about to reach our mid-year reporting. There are many veterans’ programs that the auxiliary is requested to complete throughout the entire year. With our small group, sometimes these programs are difficult to complete, but I appreciate all the work and efforts of this auxiliary. These ladies do not complain about helping and continue to assist wherever they can. With that in mind, we are still collecting the plastic bottle caps, pull tabs from cans, socks, caps, gloves and toys. If you can assist, we do appreciate everything that you can do.
Salem Lutheran will have another potluck luncheon Dec. 12. If you can, we are also collecting unperishable items for the community and will accept them at the potluck.
Please continue to keep our sick and homebound friends on your prayer lists. These friends include Leon Gorney, Sue Kolojaco, Mary Bauer, Rosa Finke, Marilyn Frenzel, Lois Bell, Al Ripper, Jean Fleischhauer, Margaret Schultz, Lynette Frenzel, Delores Mitschke, Glenn Binder, Laura Pursley, Butch Fields, Mary Whatley, Conley Sechelski, Mary Fontaine, Dwayne Fontaine and Alexander Hanna. If you would, please add those caretakers to your prayer list, as well as, all families who have relatives who may be ill.
