Candlelight service Saturday, Dec. 24

The annual Christmas party was held at Evergreen Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 11. A good time was enjoyed by all 53 people present. There was a gift exchange, and a meal was served. During the morning worship service, there was a Christmas program with the children in charge. The children did a wonderful job, and the program was enjoyed by all. Tony Montoya won the ugly sweater contest. Good going Tony! 

Evergreen Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight service at the church Saturday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. All are invited to attend. The following day a Christmas celebration will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. There won’t be Sunday School. Hope everyone will be able to attend both services. Wednesday services for Dec. 21 and 28 are canceled for the holidays.

Do hope your Christmas celebrations will be happy and everyone gets to see family and friends. 

Area residents received up to four inches of rain Saturday, Dec. 10. Every drop was certainly needed and appreciated. Just keep praying for more. To this date I have received 31 inches for the year.

The monthly meeting of the Iola North Zulch Order of the Eastern Star No. 458 was held at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge in North Zulch Friday, Dec. 9, a bit early due to the Christmas holiday. There was a good meal served and a gift exchange. Everyone had a good time.
