Bake sale a sweet success

I hope that all of you good folks had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving Day. Several area residents went out of town, some far and others stayed right at home. Some had family members and others didn’t.
The monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club met a week early at the Keith Community Center Thursday, Nov. 21. A good time was enjoyed by all that attended. There won’t be another civic club meeting until Jan. 23. The club agreed to keep the same officers for the upcoming year. They are Bob Templeton as president, Gwenn Lawrence-vice present and Tammy Sanford- secretary/ treasurer. Everyone is looking forward to them serving another year.
The Keith Civic Club bake sale at the Gibbons Creek Shell station Saturday, Nov. 23, with lots of good desserts offered for sale. Those working the sale were June Templeton, Tina Templeton and myself. There was a good sum of money raised which will be used for the clubs building insurance. Thanks to all that bought items and those that assisted in any way.
The monthly meeting of the Iola-North Zulch No. 458 held their monthly meeting Monday, Nov. 25, at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge No. 593 in North Zulch. The meeting began with a covered dish meal that was enjoyed by all in attendance. This was followed by their business meeting. A variety of business was discussed and acted upon. Also, a discussion was held on how to save money and to watch expenses. Many useful ideas were brought forth. The next meeting will be held Friday, Dec. 13, at the usual time because of Christmas. This will be their Christmas party. Everyone is asked to bring a gift for the gift exchange valued at $15. All Eastern Star members are invited to attend.
The Evergreen Baptist Church held their Thanksgiving meal following the morning worship service Sunday, Nov. 24, with a good number of members and visitors in attendance. A good time was enjoyed by all.

Happy anniversary to Bradley William and Morgan Leigh Trant Prihoda, married Dec. 1, 2007; Mike and Robin Trant Johnson, married Dec. 4, 1993. Join me in wishing them many more years of happiness together.
