Just to recap, emcee Chris Rock made a joke at the expense of actress Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of actor Will Smith. After briefly laughing it off, Will Smith was drawn by an overwhelming desire to take immediate action in defense of his apparently defenseless wife. There was, after all, a medical condition involved. (Whether or not that medical condition was known by Mr. Rock and whether it would’ve made a difference to him, I do not know.) A quick walk up onto the stage by Will Smith, a slap delivered to the face of emcee Rock, and there it was... the slap heard around the world.

My Dad passed away many years ago when I was in high school, and my mom suffered a debilitating stroke during surgery and is bedridden with severe physical limitations. Being the oldest of my siblings is most likely why I was given this job, but I have been avoiding it for some time. When I finally found the time to take this on, I was more than surprised with what I found.
