Read moreJoan was born in Akron, Ohio on June 5, 1946. She moved to Texas and attended nursing school at Alvin Community College graduating as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1979. Joan moved to Roans Prairie in 1979 where she raised her daughter Alena Dawn Snowball Woods. Joan retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan and also worked for area nursing homes. She loved caring for people and was a strong patient advocate.
