On May 6, 2023, Victalia Velasquez peacefully passed away, earning her angelic wings, at her home in Navasota, Texas. She was 64 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago and Juanita Gonzalez; two siblings, Mary and Pablo. Victalia is survived by her beloved husband, Fredy Velasquez; children, Venessa (David +), Gilbert (Vicki), David (Sarah), Crystal (Lynzee), Damien and Kayla (Anthony); grandchildren, Ocean, Dante, Michael, Maddi, Raphael, Elise, Mila, Natalia, and Theadora; as well as several brothers and sisters and their families.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Mission, 11323 County Road 304, Stoneham (Navasota) on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a rosary service to follow at 6:00 p.m. To continue her remembrance, a mass and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Mission, on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Edward C. Kucera, Jr. as the celebrant. The rite of committal will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Gloria was born in Navasota, Texas to Roland B. and Delores Perry. She was the oldest daughter of 11 children. She attended schools in Houston, Shiro, Anderson and Iola. Gloria lived in Navasota, Houston, Seward, NE, and Singleton.

Esther passed April 8, 2023, at Choice Hospice, Houston following a brief illness. She was born April 19, 1947, to the parentage of Theory and Sallie Fair Green Bowen of Grimes County, TX. She was a lifelong member of Robinson Hill Bapt. Church, of the Pineywoods (Richards) area, serving with the Women’s Ministry and Bible Study, the church choir, and the Usher Board. She attended community schools., graduating from Richards High, class of 1967, and furthered her education at Mary Allen College, Crockett, with a Bachelor of Science degree.

She graduated from Navasota High School in 1967, and then went on to study at Houston Baptist College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972. Vicki continued her education and received her Master’s degree in 1988 from the University of Mississippi.
