The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) will continue its decades long successful partnership as part of the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force. At the Nov. 6 Regular Meeting of Grimes County Commissioners Court, commissioners approved Chief Deputy Martha Smith’s request to renew the Interlocal Agreement with Montgomery County and authorize the county judge as signatory. The Task Force was founded in 1994 and is comprised of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the Texas Department of Public Safety and the GCSO.

Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said the Anderson–Shiro SRO detected the odor of marijuana on a 15–year–old male at the high school. The interaction turned violent when the student resisted being searched and detained.
