Read moreThe Grimes County Scripps Spelling Bee was held Thursday, Feb. 15 at the Brosig Performing Arts Center in Navasota. First place winners from all 10 Grimes County elementary and junior high campuses were present for the final competition. The spelling bee was especially challenging this year, lasting two hours. After 47 rounds, 186 words, and over 2 hours of intense competition, Daniel Suara, a Navasota Junior High student, was named the spelling bee champion.
