Grimes County Commissioners Court held a Regular Meeting Wednesday, April 22, broadcast live via the Grimes County Court House Facebook page. Commissioners observed the Centers for Disease Control’s social distancing recommendations in the seating arrangements. Commissioner Barbara Walker was not present at the meeting.

Authors and historians Dr. Robin Montgomery and daughter Joy Montgomery appeared before Grimes County commissioners Wednesday, April 22, to tell the story of the county’s namesake, Jesse Grimes. The Montgomery’s are members of the Grimes County Historical Commission and are currently writing a book about Grimes’ life.

AUSTIN – Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced in a press conference Monday, April 27, he will allow the statewide stay-at-home executive order to expire as scheduled Thursday, April 30. In addition, he issued plans for Phase 1 of “Reopening Texas” set to begin Friday, May 1.

Gina Buehring, a Texas Farm Bureau Agent and owner of Gina’s Cut & Dye, donated cases of bottled water and hand sanitizer to Navasota Police Department. Buehring stated she appreciates all the officers hard work and dedication in keeping our community safe and wanted to make sure they also kept themselves safe.
