Navasota Independent School District announced Sunday evening, Dec. 13 that they would begin Asynchronous Learning Monday, Dec. 14 through Friday, Dec. 18 due to a rise in COVID-19 cases across the district. The week of Asynchronous Learning comes a week before NISD is scheduled to begin the Christmas and New Year break.

The town was lit this Saturday, Dec. 12, during Navasota’s annual Home for the Holidays Christmas event with local shopping during the day, live music, the lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m. and finally ending the night the Christmas Tree Lighting. Navasota High School Choir sang Christmas carols around the city tree and then Mayor Bert Miller with help of some kiddos flipped the switch and our city tree was lit. Examiner photos
