The court’s action was reported incorrectly and we sincerely regret the error.
The initial motion by County Judge Joe Fauth named only the eight volunteer fire departments; however, Pct. 4 Commissioner Phillip Cox requested to amend the motion to include the Navasota Fire Department. Following discussion about where to find the funds, Judge Fauth amended his motion to include NFD. Cox then withdrew his request and seconded Fauth’s motion.
Grimes County Auditor Jessi Murphy provided the following statement, “Judge Fauth motioned to allocate $2,000 for the VFDs and NFD and the minutes have been updated online.”
