BELLVILLE - Navasota Soccer earned history with a 3-0 win over Bellville March 10, to clinch Navasota’s first district championship.
The Rattlers, 15-4-2 overall and 9-1 in District 20-4A accomplished the feat under new head coach Brian Lopez in his first year. Navasota’s history-making team includes assistant coach Patrick Preston and players: Juan Vargas, Salvador Paz, Javier Cabrera, Adrian Castillo, Joe Olvera, Giovanni Perez, Ricardo Alvarado, Christian Castañeda, Fabian Perez, Rodrigo Hernandez, Luis Cruz, Diego Montecinos, Israel Yanez, Christopher Lopez and Nolan Ruiz.
Navasota will face Houston Washington in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs with the date, time and location TBD.
The Lady Rattlers placed third in District 20-4A with a 3-5 record. Bi-District playoff information is TBD.

The Anderson-Shiro High School graduate is in his second year competing for Weatherford College.
The sophomore heeler has teamed with header Luke Williams during the fall and spring. "You kind of keep on getting that team chemistry," he said about staying with one partner.
DUBLIN – Two Anderson-Shiro Lady Owls are heading to the 3A UIL State Powerlifting Meet in Frisco March 16.
Senior Kylie Weeks and sophomore Jade Buchanan lifted their way to state with second place finishes at the Region 3, 3A Division 2 THSWPA Powerlifting Meet. Weeks punched her ticket with a total lift of 660 pounds. Buchanan qualified with a combined 790-pound lift.
